Christopher Pierce – MAI, SRA (Resume)

After graduating from Central Michigan University in 1983 with a Degree in Finance, Mr. Pierce relocated to Southern California. He began his career as Project Accountant for Daon Corporation, a large real estate developer. He then took a Project Manager position for A-M Homes, a large home and apartment builder. In 1989, he expanded his experience and became Director of Land Acquisition and Forward Planning for The Manning Company, another large builder in Southern California at the time. While in the development business, Mr. Pierce acquired his Real Estate Broker’s License and his General Contractor’s License. Mr. Pierce is a second generation builder. He worked for his father’s building and development business in Michigan while he was in high school and college.

In 1991, Mr. Pierce went into the consulting and appraisal business. The move was brought on by the rapid decline of the real estate business in the early 1990’s. He formed Pierce Consulting Group, the forerunner of PCG Appraisal Services. After deciding to go into the appraisal business full time, he took an appraisal position as a Senior Staff Appraiser with TRW Appraisal, the largest real estate appraisal company in the U.S. at the time.

In 1993, Mr. Pierce went on his own one final time. He started his company out of his house and worked there for 2 years. He survived the “Orange County Bankruptcy” and started to grow the business. He acquired his Certified Residential Appraisal License in 1993 and his Certified General Appraisal License in 1994. The business was growing and in 1995, he moved into his prior office on Irvine Boulevard in Irvine, California.

Since then, Mr. Pierce has achieved both the MAI and SRA designations from the Appraisal Institute. These are the highest honors in the appraisal profession.

Mr. Pierce has since went on to found Realty Valuation Services with Mark Fernald in 2010 and continues to grow this business today. As of 2016, the company has completed over 30,000 commercial, industrial and residential appraisals and reviews. Realty Valuation Services has completed appraisals in all of the Southern California counties.

In addition to his appraisal business, Mr. Pierce just finished developing a 9,000 square foot luxury condominium project in San Clemente where he performed the roles of both developer and general contractor. He currently owns 7 properties in Southern California. This gives him additional expertise in construction and management.
